That-Land-Blessed-By-Kuyutha-Envoy-Of-Great-Justice-Whose-Hills-Shall-Never-Fall-Below-The-Horizon, often referred to simply as the Divine Kingdom of Theanill (they-uh-nill), is by far the oldest of the nations of Io. It formed some thousand years ago when a tribe of dragon priests of the dragon god Kuyuth, exarch of Bahamut, pled for aid from their master. In response, Kuyutha herself manifested in the Material Plane as Theanill, immortal divine avatar of Kuyutha, to lead her people. She has ruled from her platinum throne in Brahm, the Divine City and capital of Theanill, since.
Theanill enjoys a position of great historical, cultural, and political strength among the four nations. The Order of Tamarand, the largest knight-order of paladins in Io, has continued to defend Theanill from harm for the last seven hundred years. It has developed friendly diplomatic relations with the young nation of Khyne — their mutual development of Coeurl Island stands as a testament to this — as well as with the Grand Counsel of the Cirrhonian Provinces.
Several years ago, the Taguzen Shogunate, after assimilating all of the territories of the northern portion of the western continent (with the exception of the Kell’ar Mountains), declared war on Theanill, and has been vying for control of the western continent since. The war seems to be in a sort of stalemate, with Taguzen unable to break through and Theanill remaining strictly defensive.
